I’m thankful for today. (Is it yesterday? Or maybe already tomorrow? I’m not sure. I haven’t slept yet). My watercolor art friend asked me if I was okay (and really genuinely meant it) which started a really good conversation about hard things. I opened up and it felt right. They’re so wise. And they’re going to be a pivotal point in some big decisions coming my way soon. I’m so thankful for our easy friendship and the way I feel like Ive known them forever. As I made my trek back to the house, Smiley texted me to invite me to her friend/found family’s house for Thanksgiving. Not-smiley Smiley, who paints herself a face she wears around others but lets me peek at what’s underneath. I love her for who she is, and I’m thankful that she’s thinking of me. Then later in the evening, Fish Mom invited me to Bingo Night at the tavern. All of my friends from that part of my life were there, and they all laughed at my jokes which felt good. I won the 7th game of bingo and it all came together. I’m so grateful to Fish Mom and Fish Dad for pulling me into their circle. The day, while initially pretty awful, turned out into something I’m so thankful for. thank you. thank you. thank you. i love you.
